143: Now With 20% More Blog

I just sent a wholesome boxful of t-shirts to George Duran. Doesn't ring a bell? He's also known as Ham On The Street, a really great show on The Food Network. I can't believe he actually emailed me back so fast. This is my in, people. I will have my own show by the end of the year. I didn't hesitate to mention our yearly holiday, Shanksgiving, as well. I'd like to get this one in the books. I'd like to have it printed in gray font on calendars, along with such ridiculous holidays as Boss' Day, Arbor Day, or Columbus Day.

Shanksgiving will be on Nov. 24 this year. Get those tofurkys nice and fatted.

142: What, Vince? Where?

Funny story. Completely true... Last night, we had this interview to do with a local magazine, and upon the recommendation of the interviewer, it went down at the hot meaty downtown eatery, Fogo De Chao. Being a cool cucumbery vegetarian, I enjoyed the massive salad bar and tasty desserts, but that's beside the point. Around halfway through dinner, I noticed that the interviewer was not taping the conversation nor was he visibly taking any notes. He was also downing a smorgasbord of Brazilian spirits. But that's also beside the point, or is it?

On the way back to the office, I asked my co-worker if the interviewer managed to take any notes during our 2 hour dinner. He replied that during dessert, he snuck a glance over at the seemingly blank notebook of our guest and saw one word written there. One word to encapsulate 2 hours of conversation. And that word was... DONUTS.

True story.

141: Fascinated by Fantasy

Hi. I'm working on a very large blog regarding fantasy football. I realize that not everyone shares the same odd love of the game as i do, which is why I plan on making it an interesting read for anyone... I remember long ago being so annoyed sifting through crappy fantasy hockey statistics to get to the heart of a blog. That blog has since left my circle of interest and I blame hockey. I blame hockey for a lot of things. I don't like hockey. I have marginal interest in basketball and baseball. But boy do i love football. It's odd, i know. People that know me well think i'm nuts. I blame hockey.

In the real non-fantasy world, i've received a promotion here at work which is amazing. Part of my job description is surfing the web for hot new music. I like that. I can do that. If there's one thing I know inside & out, it's music. Not so much the biz, but definitely the sound. And of course, I have a lot of experience in the area of "wanting free merchandise." I have found my Shangri-La. Did I mention another part of my job description is writing songs every week? Pfft. This is no job. I've been doing that for years. For free, even! I've posted 5 more over at my Threadless profile. If you don't feel like sifting through all 117 of them to find the new ones, i'll gladly list them here with links to the mp3's. I think they came out alright this week.

Recycling, Made of Money, Poet-Trees, Fake Pandas Have More Fun, Big Fish Wins

Had some lunch with Todd Bell and then played some heated ping-pong. Even after all of my practicing, it was a close match. We need some fantasy ping pong. Seriously.

140: Abandoned? Nope.

I've been so busy lately that, well, I just haven't had the opportunity to come chat. I want that to change. I have been promoted here which means more computer time. So hopefully that means more bloggin' time. To catch up on all of the Threadless songs, I've made them all available for download at my Threadless user page. Some good stuff over there. Some stinkers, too. It's to be expected.
