141: Fascinated by Fantasy
Hi. I'm working on a very large blog regarding fantasy football. I realize that not everyone shares the same odd love of the game as i do, which is why I plan on making it an interesting read for anyone... I remember long ago being so annoyed sifting through crappy fantasy hockey statistics to get to the heart of a blog. That blog has since left my circle of interest and I blame hockey. I blame hockey for a lot of things. I don't like hockey. I have marginal interest in basketball and baseball. But boy do i love football. It's odd, i know. People that know me well think i'm nuts. I blame hockey.
In the real non-fantasy world, i've received a promotion here at work which is amazing. Part of my job description is surfing the web for hot new music. I like that. I can do that. If there's one thing I know inside & out, it's music. Not so much the biz, but definitely the sound. And of course, I have a lot of experience in the area of "wanting free merchandise." I have found my Shangri-La. Did I mention another part of my job description is writing songs every week? Pfft. This is no job. I've been doing that for years. For free, even! I've posted 5 more over at my Threadless profile. If you don't feel like sifting through all 117 of them to find the new ones, i'll gladly list them here with links to the mp3's. I think they came out alright this week.
Recycling, Made of Money, Poet-Trees, Fake Pandas Have More Fun, Big Fish Wins
Had some lunch with Todd Bell and then played some heated ping-pong. Even after all of my practicing, it was a close match. We need some fantasy ping pong. Seriously.

hey bob, haven't commented in awhile, but i saw you at the format show and figured i's take a look back here since you took a break for awhile. check out Look Mexico, they're a small band from Florida who sound like an errie mix between American Football and Explosions In The Sky. I figured that'd be perfect for your new music thing at threadless. Hope you're feeling better and can't wait to see you out playing again.

1) i agree with comment #1 from Anonymous, but with all due respect, i will not force anything and tell you what to do (but i still agree with him/her)...
2) I think that a zip file with all of these songs on them would be a GREAT addition... I was keeping up for a while, but I only have like 40 of these songs, and to go through the rest will be a pain. It would be REALLY easy to just download them all right now at once, and delete the ones I already have...

Good luck with your fantasy football. I did the real FF (UK game rather than the game where you use hands the whole time in the US :P) this year - first time in a long time - and I've found I'm already a long way back. So hard.
Good to see you're back posting some stuff though, and the new job sounds amazing. Finding new music, getting free merch, can't see anything wrong with that...

Blame hockey? c'mon now, hockey is my life it's my everything, If I were you I'd go watch the Blackhawks whenever I got a chance, they got a real talent there in Martin Havlat now. Have you ever played hockey? maybe it's because I'm Canadian, but I must say I've never played a sport that comes close to comparing to hockey for excitement and fun. Hockeys fast, hard hitting(more than football), dazzling maneuvers from the likes of Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin, Crosby may be the best athlete in this world. Wanna join my fantasy hockey pool?
I DEMAND a rematch.
