028 So, Can You Read a Ruler?

The interview this morning over at the temp place went well, although i have to admit, when i walked in, i wondered if i was in the right place. The man behind the desk was speaking on the phone to someone about a potential job and distinctly said the words “yes, you’ll have to be able to read a ruler...”

After talking to him, I was assured that this was the place. I filled out my application, chatted awhile and went on my merry way. Don’t call us, we’ll call you. Ah, whatever. I got a good vibe from the place. I also emailed my resume to another temp place so chances are fair that i’ll be working somewhere within the next 6 weeks... before the tour!

The kind of LP cover you’ll want to buy a frame for at Urban Outfitters. Hey, I’m not waxing my car here, i’m waxing Chris Strong’s. The actual music on the vinyl and CD is shit, but you’ll love the cover so much, you’ll have to buy it! Seriously though, the thang comes out on June 21 and there will be so much information to post here, your head will spin.

The DaVinci Code is done and done. Without any spoilers I’ll say that it was a great read... mostly because of the vast knowledge that Dan Brown brings to the subject. The descriptions of the Louvre and the Chateau were so accurate and created perfect settings. I’ve only been to Paris once and reading the book brought back so many memories. I have to go back. Although, I may skip out on the DaVinci Code tour. That’s just insane!

I agree with some of the critics (my friends) who wish it wasn’t written in such a straightforward adventure-story cliffhanger-every-chapter fashion. True, it kept you turning the pages, but it read a bit too much like, well, a movie. Hence, we won’t be in a position to judge whether the movie left out or took liberties with any of the book’s information. It’s pretty much all there, plain as day. Perhaps Mr. Brown decided to keep the actual plot and storyline simple due to the complicated and mysterious nature of the subject? Who knows. Anyway, i recommend it. It won’t take you long to zip through.

It will take you a long time to zip though these 622 videos... Although some of them don’t really work. Namely, You Can Call Me Al. I really wanted to see that one again. Dammit. I did, however find out an interesting tidbit about that crazy bass break in the middle...
