dan: Now I'm trying to remain calm..but jeez if people would just..When you send something out and it's got two labels on it one for where it's going and one for where it's from thats what we call in the shipping industry "double labels" It's already got a fedex airbill on it with to and from.. genius!! Sometimes the sorters will mistakinly look at where it's from and send it back instead of sending it to where it's supposed to go..I tried explaining that to this guy and he did the ole' shaking of his head no no no thats so they know who to send it back to..I said so you didn't enclose ANY paperwork inside? I wanted to say.." that's all you're relying on is that little return label? Why don't you call for a pick up you little some bitch but nooooo you don't want to pay them to pick up from you so you can save the 5.50 to go GET A FRICKIN HAIR CUT..sorry..um..It kinda reminds me when Brad used to work at Carl's jr. and he took over for somebody that went to take a piss and some guy wanted his money back for the 100% satisfaction guaranteed breakfast..and Brad lost his coolness and said " I'm gonna kick 100% of your ass" remember that movie? THIS JUST IN a lady walks in the store I stand up and say Hi.. women says nothing I say hi again in an obvious way like " Hi!" she says, I think I filled this out right? I pause for 10 seconds I wanted so bad to say hi again before I did anything but didn't.. I'm dying here.. May 15, 2002
Robert: Why do (us) musicians love / hate Chicago? Check it out on Action Attack Helicopter. It's a sunny day here in the windy... and there is much to be done. May 14, 2002
Norman: Well, well, well. Welcome Michael. I don't know you, but we're blogmates now. I'm sure everyone has just been dying, wondering, where is Norman? Why hasn't he blogged in so long? Oh, the agony! So where have I been? I went to Dallas for a week. And Santa Cruz for an afternoon. And besides that I've been home in Oakland. And DJing some, which is nice. I started a record label, but none of you will be interested because it will only release house music 12-inches. And the old band finally has a new drummer. (No word yet on bass, but I've still got my fingers crossed that Todd will come to his senses and join the dark side.) Either way, we'll be in the UK and Germany this August for festivals and will reschedule some US dates from before we were so rudely interrupted. People often ask: Norman, what was the best show you've ever seen? My answer for about 12 years now has been Bad Brains at the Ritz and Sundance clubs in New York in the summer of 1989. Then, about a week ago, everything changed when I went to see Danny Tenaglia play at 1015 Folsom in San Francisco. There were several reasons why this event was amazing, but I'll narrow it down to the most extraordinary one. This man played from 2AM until 3PM the next day. Christ! I only managed to make it until a bit after 8AM and the club was still packed. I didn't want to leave but my legs were turning into jelly. Other music I'm enjoying: Wilco's "Yankee Foxtrot," DNTEL's "Life Is Full Of Possibilities," Francois K's "Classics," and Doves' "The Last Broadcast." Top tune of the moment: Cheryl Lynn's "Got To Be Real." And I, too, await word on the Wheat album...
TBELL: Garage sale would be perfect time for me to get rid of the van don't you think.. As-is Braid van. As seen on 'lucky to be alive" LP cover. Over 200,000ish miles. Strurdy loft. Door locks work sometimes. Runs good but needs work. Has been on fire before. Best offer. Is'nt it weird to think that this was a soundtrack to a horror movie? Anyone know anything about the next Wheat record? |
