94 Going Up (The Sky) - Target

(oh and by the way, here's 99 Big Trucks - Pedro the Lion)

dan:

holy cow man..!! I'm still kickin' after last nights drink marathon I'm suprised I'm still walking and able to get up for work today...

It all started when I got to ROYAL INDIA at eight last night..this is what I did for all you inquiring minds that want to know..I took the Angel to the south side, you know like MobY..I took the freeway cause I was running a little late and if you're runnin' late the last place you want to be is in the angel or the best place to be is in the angel so she'll protect you, anyway, I got off on HOlt -dime- and thought I took the wrong exit...well, It was the correct exit and I drove a block north to oklahoma and proceeded west to 27th..as jeff would say 'the heart of the south side.." you know fonzy loves chochie or whatever..? I get to Royal India and there's still a seat for me..ordered the chicken curry medium heat and it was awesome..I was expecting some mock chicken, which would've been fine but it was real...I chose to have a tajmahal beer with my meal..and I smoked more nat shermans than you can shake a stick at..so then we decided to go over to kind jeff's house to chill..
once at jeff's I had the pleasure of meeting the 'house dog' what a sweet lil' thang..went upstairs to jeff's domain and I shit you not it was like being backstage or something in the dressing room..he had muffin's soda, vegan marshmellows, water, the new fugazi and a bunch of red lights..totally sweet..totally...I didn't tell you this but when we left the RI it was too late to get adult beverage so the good keith said something about raiding the cooler at work..20 minutes later here comes keith with a 12 pack of assorted brews from Wisconsin; home brewed ya know..Listening to J*n tell stories was enough to make me drink lemme tell ya..I met some awesome japanese people..and had some good talks with Mark Arm and Jeff..so then Joyce calls...

Where are you..she's at my friend doris'sss house and all I can hear is music in the back ground..hold on a second mariahs' on the radio here at work let me go smash it with the camp beat stick.......pele thank you...so where was I..? I go over to doris'sses and people were dancing like no tomorrow..drank some beer had to go home and grab the rationed beer that I was saving and a bottle of wine..got back and mike allen was there so we danced a little (yeah me and mike)..not much though..I did have fun on this rug that moved across their wood floor nicely makin for some really great moves..I think, in fact I know I had some wine..how many times do I have to tell you not to drink wine and beer in the same night..jeez.. drove the angle home with choice and kissed notorious goodnight..woke up with a headache..drove 45min to work drinking coffee..thank you coffee..I think thats it..
I've got customers..
peace out-

What's this I hear about The Pogues? Rumors are true? Reforming? Possible tour with Hey Mercedes?

TBELL:

Getting ready to head out on our little four day jaunt. I'm excited to see the guys in Burning Airlines. It's been awhile.. Damon will be picking me up soon. We are then hitting Comet for some breakfast.. mmmmm.. I can taste the peppery goodness of veggie biscuits and gravy now..

Dack is back up to his old tricks... laying on the keyboard..

Why do cats love computers so much?

Everytime I even turn it on, or sit down at it, he's up in my shit. It's pretty cute. Also, everytime the phone rings or answering machine kicks on he's got to run in the living room and jump up on the table where it is. Is it because he knows I'll be in there to answer it and he'll be there waiting for a little pet? Or does he actually think someone is calling for him? It's been 7 1/2 years since I've had him and I don't ever remember him getting even one phone call.. Kinda sad he's still waiting.. "Why hello?"

We'll I gotta go, he's making a nest in my suitcase.. gotta get him out of there before my clothes are hairy all week..

One of these days I'm going to end up first day of tour in the middle of nowhere with a stowaway..

97 Come Dancing - The Kinks

HEY! I switched two dates on our shows list. I had the Indianapolis / South Bend dates switched. They're all good now. Woohoo.

dan:

so I'm riding in the back of Miquel allen's black car heading up to the great land of Green Bay....just the thought of it still gives me the chills..man it's cold in here..so before I head up to the game word had it that another friend was cruisin' up to see the PACK STOMP on the redskins..sec.4 row 38..finally get there and we start walking thru the construction towards the gate, which is some clothes hanger duct taped up rotary mc-guy-ver type thing..now I was expecting some security check points and officer O'mally was nowhere to be found..the game started and all of security seemed to have left, so we walk in and grab some beer just as the mad rush of camoflage hunting and fishing construction worker lookin guys dash to the john..all in all there were some really great plays and I even ran into someone from milwaukee..what a rush..I gotta go I'm at the grind ya know..

peace out-

Robert:

OK, so apparently yesterday's link was actually today's link... Hey, it's the very beginning of this project, so you have to expect this kind of blunder. Anyhoo, as soon as I get things worked out, I'll put up the correct link for Big Trucks...

98 March 25, 1998 - Kind of Like Spitting
Recorded 9/18/01 at Zach and Christine's Horse
(Extra thanks to Rick & Matt Fast for helping with the encoding and uploading, by the way. Those guys sure know how to encode and upload.)

Still at the library. Drats. This phone line fiasco is driving me batty. I went with a respectable alternative and still I'm at the mercy of Ameritech. It never fails... But we will win this fight. Mark my words.

I've got a "live one" sitting next to me. He's mimicking everything I'm doing. Oh dear.

Pointdexter on the violin and Lewis and Gilbert will be joining in..

Hey Courtney! I know that one too..

De-flea-ed the cats today. Miss Katies cat had fleas. Just a few but they multiply fast.. probably got them from sitting in the windows on sunny days. Who knew a loving kitty with such a pretty name (Violet) could be so gross? Anyways it was time for a cleaning, so the house got worked over, and anyone who knows my cat (Dack) knows how grumpy and independent he can be. He has the strength of 10 men sometimes, like a vampire. It's frightening how quick and strong he is, yet so subdued at times.. He did'nt have any fleas but we did him anyways to be safe.. and I got the scars to prove it.

Listening to Those Bastards.

Spent the day at the laundramat (Soap Opera 1, for all you Milwaukee locals), and ate at one of my favorite places Beans and Barley. They took one of my favorite things off the menu though, the cheese sandwich...

"With brick cheese plus avocado please!"

Yummier words where never spoken. It's been sadly replaced by the cheddar and chutney sandwich. Gross! I pulled an audible last minute and wen't with the TLT. It was a good move.

Looking forward to practicing tomorrow before our shows this week. Got tour photos to show everyone too, since I'm scanner-less maybe i can talk Bob into putting some up. Keep checking back..

Damon and I are going to watch Monday night football tonight, kickoff at 8pm. Go Pack! Who in Milwaukee is'nt going to be watching that is'nt already tailgating outside of Lambeau field? Damon's making the pizza and i'm bringing the beer. Both kinds.

Keep your eye on the tele-prompter for the guy in the bright blaze orange hunting coveralls throwing up.. I suspect that'll be Dan Keehn making his television debut..

Robert:

There are some funny pictures round these here parts courtesy of our pally pal Courtney. Including this one soon to be used in a new ad campaign... as part of our newly-signed endorsement deal.

Yeah. I wish!

Thanks, C. You make-a me smile.

99 Big Trucks - Pedro the Lion (correct link coming soon)
Recorded 9/18/01 at the Kuhnbarsky Cookout, Bloomington IL

Well, the smart people at the phone company scheduled my installation sometime between 8-12 this morning... so I got my ace outta bed and hung out in the living room and watched TV. What time did they show up? 1:45 PM. Not like I had anything important to do today or anything...

But the real kicker is: there's some problem with the "phone box" out in the alley. And it's got Ameritech's cursed name all over it. Literally! Let's hope they get out there and straighten this all out before tomorrow. Busy man. Got busy work.

dan:

goin to the packer game tonight..look for the bright blaze orange hunting coveralls...later..
