TBELL: Hello from overcast Minneapolis! I'm partially over my plague, surely given to me by either Bob, or his girlfriend Christine. I've been around both of them the last few days and started sweating like mad in my sleep then getting cold chills. Sucks. I think the secret to overcoming it is lay off the booze and get sleep, lots of it.. Hopefully it'll pass. I spent late last night post-set at my own home for 5 hours trying to reduce my fever, in-and-out of sleep, taking big chalky pills. Apologies to all the people I bailed on @ the Rave. I doubt I would've been much fun to be around, plus I might've given you a little gift for the next few weeks.. that little gift being leprosy. Tonights show should be fun. My goal tonight is to not look like a zombie on drugs while I play. Looking forward to seeing Neil W. too. A group showing of Planet of the Apes with most of the Vagrant band posse is planned for our day off Monday afternoon... look out St. Louis!
Robert: 157 Main in Vine - Days in December 158 Kitchen - The Lemonheads 6:05 PM - 7/27/01 I am in the back lounge of our bus listening to the wonderful sounds of Pele. The bus is parked behind The Rave, the site of tonight’s show. Presently, Saves the Day are soundchecking. Then Dashboard, then us. I’m looking for something to do. It’s odd enough joining a tour that has been in progress for almost two weeks. Imagine when it involves jumping on a tourbus. Into the unknown... Hey, but it’s Milwaukee, and it’s the Rave, so it’s still within the realm of “known.” Albeit bizarro known. Almost the name of our album: Albeit Bizarro Known. Oh yeah, the album! Here’s the scoop: The album WILL NOT be released on August 7th, due to unforseen circumstances (including, but not exclusive to: locusts and frogs). I can tell you that it WILL be released soon and once I get the date, I will forward the information along to you like the gun-jumping vessel that I pride myself on being. However, DO NOT email and ask why the sudden delay, as I will only respond with the following: “The album WILL NOT be released on August 7th, due to unforseen circumstances (including, but not exclusive to: locusts and frogs).” I thank you. Personally, I see this as a tremendous positive. It will give us plenty more time to coordinate website tie-ins, crazy trivia contests, and plan our first video as a full-scale parody of The Cannonball Run, directed by Hal Neeedham himself, featuring none other than Terry Bradshaw, reliving his role as the beer-swilling-guy-whose-name-escapes-me-at-the-moment. Just kidding about that last one. See that’s the thing. I just can’t be serious. However, a certain Mr. Sean found that crowdsurfing is a serious offense punishable by ejection from a House of Blues. I was watching you the whole time! And so bus call tonight is 12:30 AM to the hotel, whereupon I will shower the funk up and copy/paste this masterpiece to the blog for Saturday viewing. At 4:30 AM the bus leaves for Minneapolis. I’m sensing a bus-lag sleeping pattern setting in, keeping blogtime in mind always. My big dumb digital camera decided it would be awesome to just ignore everything I politely ask it to do. I think it needs a new memory card, which I suppose I can pick up somewheres or anothers, but until that time, my grand plan for a photo diary is all for naught. It figures. Note to self: email tour itinerary to Mom. She worries. It’s now 6:20 and we’ll be pushing up against doortime with our soundcheck. That’s what you get for being the lowly openers. Hey, who’s complaining? I got top bunk! July 27, 2001

Robert: 159 The Man That Got Away - Jeff Buckley 160 Blunchlox - Gauge ATTENTION! We are playing at 6 PM tonight! ... Just like last night, unfortunately. It seems that the tickets all said 6:30, yet our set time was 6:00-6:30! Which pretty much fucking sucks, and i ain't ttoo proud to swear about it. Anyway, it's the same deal tonight, so please get there early! Also, today or tomorrow, I'll be adding new shirts to the store! What is this, Napster? Having trouble pre-odering the Everynight Fire Works album? There will be an answer. And the answer will be provided tonight or tomorrow morning. Hopefully. Woohoo! There's a Yahoo Hey Mercedes Club! Robert: Just got back from the emergency room. Seems I've got the old viral pneumonia. Nothing some hardcore antibiotics can't wipe out. Now on with the rock....
Robert: 161 Only the Good Die Young - Billy Joel Well, folks, I'm a solid 65%, but I'm thinking like a 95%. I'm really starting to get annoyed with my dumb body. So it's time for denial. I'm not sick, really. It's all in my head... I went home from work at 10:30 yesterday and basically laid around the apartment all day and night sweating it out. I thought it was gone. I guess not. Still working on it. But it's my last day here, so I should be excited about that, right? Now I'm going to go through all of my email. July 23, 2001

The zoo was fun although walking all over the gd park to find the beer wasn't fun..but it was like looking for something knowing you'd find it.... it's just a matter of time before you reach the gold at the end of the rainbow..we went to go see the white alligator but 5 minutes into the zoo I felt bad for all of the animals trapped in the hell..so I let 'em all go..except the sharks..(cause of todds fear for them)..had a brat and some sweet corn that was good but not as good as the stuff I brought over to the party on friday..even had an ice cream sandwich..then we went to this bar in tosa called shepherds somethin' or other..threw darts and won but failed to prevail at 3d golf..then went home and crashed..the next day of my summer vacation, I woke up..so..what about that..?
